Bag filters are employed in HVAC systems to enhance the indoor air quality in auto shops, data centers, food and beverage plants, industrial locations, and schools. These filters are appropriate for scenarios where air is consistently flowing through the filter as they might deposit some captured substances back into the air current when they deflate. Pocket air filters are directionally specific and should be installed with their pockets positioned vertically. This restricts the redistribution of trapped particles in case the filters deflate. A filter’s MERV (minimum efficiency reporting value) rating gauges how effectively a filter traps contaminants in the air current based on the size of the particles it can successfully capture. The higher the MERV rating of a filter is, the more proficiently it traps small particles.

Application

  • MERV 11 pocket air filters capture 80% to 85% of particles sized between 3 and 10 microns (such as dusting aids and cement dust). They also capture 50% to 65% of particles sized between 1 and 3 microns (lead dust, humidifier dust, coal dust, and nebulizer droplets)and less than 20% of particles sized between 0.30 and 1 micron (such as most smoke, sneeze nuclei, insecticide dust, copier toner, and face powder). They are more efficient in capturing contaminants compared to MERV 8 pocket air filters.
